Alex Davidson is a professional photographer specialising in sports imagery. His coverage of international and first class cricket together with international, Premiership, European and Pro14 rugby, football league and other sports regularly feature in the national and regional press as well as online. Some of his recent work can be viewed here.
Educated at Blundell’s, Sherborne and Richard Huish College, he began his photographic career at the age of 12, achieving his first national daily press coverage three years later with the Daily Mail Schools Cup at Twickenham in 2015. He is one of the youngest professional sports photographers in the UK and has developed a loyal following particularly within the cricket world and amongst supporters of Somerset County Cricket Club where he was Club Photographer before ever expanding photographic commitments necessitated a move to London in late 2019.
”Alex has been fantastic in his role as photographer for us at Somerset CCC. He continually worked above and beyond his call of duty to provide the club and players with some of the best photos. His commitment to what he does is unparalleled and I think the quality of his work speaks for itself. It is no coincidence that many of his photographs appear on the national back pages! Aside from this, Alex is also a top guy and a pleasure to be around, and I think that I speak on behalf of the whole team in saying that it was great having Alex at Somerset.” Tom Abell, Captain of Somerset County Cricket Club
