Alex Davidson is a professional photographer specialising in sports images. From his base in Somerset, he covers a variety of assignments, working for the national agency PPAUK as well as individual clubs, publications and corporate clients. His coverage of international and first class cricket, premiership rugby, football league and national hunt and flat racing, along with other sports, regularly features in the national, regional and local press as well as extensively online.
Educated at Blundell’s School, Sherborne and Richard Huish College, he began his photographic career at the age of 12, achieving his first national daily press coverage three years later with the Daily Mail Schools Cup at Twickenham in 2015. He has developed a loyal following particularly in the westcountry and amongst supporters of Somerset County Cricket Club.
“Alex has enjoyed an excellent relationship with Somerset County Cricket Club for a number of years. The demand for instant, high quality photos has become massive and Alex has been at the forefront in helping us provide this. His understanding of the technology required allows us to post incredible action photos on our website and social media channels within seconds which has helped us gain a favourable reputation with our fans. Alex has built excellent working relationships not only with the staff at SCCC, but the professional cricketers as well. Most importantly, his photos are of a very high standard and have been used across several of our marketing campaigns.” Ben Warren, Somerset County Cricket Club
Much of his daily work with elite clubs is covered by licensing arrangements which preclude reproduction on this site, but you can follow his latest work through PPAUK and by following him on Twitter.
Alex also undertakes promotional, corporate and private event work, generally with a sporting emphasis. He frequently covers events for independent schools, promotional work for companies such as cricket bat manufacturers and sports sponsors as well as corporate, local, wandering and charitable teams.
